New work for organist Alan Morrison

Delighted to report that I’ve been commissioned to compose a new work for solo organ for Alan Morrison, who will premiere it in February 2014.

This will be part of the celebration of the Organ Restoration Campaign of Abington Presbyterian Church in Abington, Pa. Their 1969 Möller is undergoing a complete reconditioning, and John Sall, APC’s Director of Music Ministries, is planning a number of events to highlight this.

The new work will be premiered at Abington Presbyterian Church on February 16th, 2014 at 4 pm.

Alan Morrison is one of America’s foremost concert organists, and a champion of contemporary music. He is Head of the Organ Department at The Curtis Institute of Music, Associate Professor of Organ at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, and College Organist at Ursinus College. He regularly performs throughout the United States and internationally.

I am thrilled to be working with this truly great artist on such a happy occasion!
